My workout progress this week + weekend forecast (Week 3 of 8):
Monday PM: 5-mile run
Tuesday PM: 4-mile run
Wednesday PM: 40-min. tempo run (about 4.5 miles)
Thursday: Rest Day (Aunt Flo sickness)
Friday AM/PM: 4-mile run + weights (legs/abs)
Saturday AM: 6-mile run
Sunday AM: 3-mile run
Please tell me you can relate… I seem to have at least one day per week where I lose all motivation. Last week, it was on Sunday, so I’m happy to report I was able to pull myself together (I give full credit to Matt for his supportive pep talk) on Monday and stay strong through the week. I also expect everything to come crashing down when my period starts (they always wipe me out for a day or two), but this time I tried to stay focused on eating healthy (protein, veggies and fruit) since I couldn’t balance my calories with working out. I always try to eat healthy, but I think good nutrition is crucial for maintaining progress when you’re sick.
The best part of Week 3 is that I’ve been seeing results in two places:
My mental and physical endurance (4 miles is starting to feel easy); and
A couple pounds gone on the scale (since muscle weighs more than fat, I only keep track as a reference if I’m working to build lean muscle while burning fat).
Well, on to Week 4! The one thing keeping me focused and excited for the week ahead is knowing the 4th of July is coming up. I don’t know why, but that’s always been a progress-check date for me. When it comes to visualizing goals/results, mine always seem to take place on July 4th. Lol.
