As the days seem to get shorter and shorter in the fall, I find sometimes I’m moving quickly in the mornings to get out the door. A simple smokey eye and an easy neutral lip is often my go-to look and is truly timeless. For Amanda, I used more taupe and cream shades since her features are lighter. For myself, with my darker features, I used more dark brown and golden shades. It’s important to think about coloring when choosing the perfect shadows for an easy smokey eye.
Mostly, you don’t have to spend a lot of time to look put together and this tutorial will hopefully get you there even faster!

This was such a fun experience learning from Lauren. I’m always following the same old morning routine (foundation, a smear of ‘carbon black’ eyeshadow and my go-to ‘angel’ lipstick) and I wanted to learn how to do a subtle smokey eye that I’d feel comfortable wearing to the office. I can’t wait to purchase all of these brushes and tools (you’ll be seeing them again in future tutorials!) so I can practice this easy look on my own.
Whether you have darker features like Lauren, or lighter features like me, I hope this tutorial makes you as excited as I am to try a new look. Feel free to Pin It for future reference and be sure to let us know in the comments if you have any questions or suggestions.

This is great! I'm terrible at everything but mascara but these tips break it down so well. Thanks!
